Ce qui suit est en anglais, car mon interlocuteur, cette fois-ci, ce n’est pas toi, cher lecteur que j’aime, c’est ton voisin d’en bas. Plus précisément l’américain ayant choisi un parti dont le symbole est un éléphant et dont le chef est un âne. Je sais qu’il ne me lira pas, ce voisin, mais tout de même, ça me fera du bien de penser qu’il le pourrait. En outre, j’ai mis des gros mots, de même que la représentation du parti en question, dans l’espoir qu’il y a un bot quelque part qui fouille le web pour ce genre de truc et qui relaiera la chose à une quelconque autorité compétente pour diffusion plus large. On peut rêver!

Alors voici, peut-être maladroitement, mais bon…:

If I were an American living in the US, I’d be #fucking-ashamed; even more so if I identified to the Republican Party. Ashamed and angry at a president who’s words are, at the most, insignificant, if not utterly silly, Worse still, they seem completely assumed, as if the poor lad actually believes what he is saying.

Nonetheless, it looks as if Donald Trump wrote the book on manipulating events and information to his advantage: on Covid-19; on gun control; on Beirut; on trade agreements; on China; on Israel; I won’t cite the guy on any of those subjects, just look up those mean old fake media of yours and mines, you’ll see by yourself if you just let yourself believe that serious and respected journalists from all around the world are not part of a grim scheme aiming at discrediting America and at letting those bleeding hearts, artists and commies take action and lead this God given Earth to anarchy.

Let us be clear on your beloved leader: either he’s a dangerous megalomaniac manipulating the media and the population to his strict personal advantage, or he is a complete moron. Anyway, the end result is the same: an ass is an ass is an ass, whatever the reasons. So what shall we do about that? Well, for one thing, vote. Preferably in person, so that your vote will not be subject to contest. Second, DON’T VOTE FOR TRUMP OR FOR ANYONE WHO STANDS BY HIM. That’s easy enough, isn’t it? On the long term, you also might want to take a cold hard look on the american way of choosing leaders. Trump was elected mainly because he is immensely rich, and because he has the unique ability of surfing on people’s ignorance, misjudgements and bigotry. Let’s not forget that his initial popularity stemmed from the fact that he took a strong stance against political intelligentsiae, even in his own party. It might be the only credit we could give to the guy… Anyway, you the people need better representation on local and global issues from leaders that truly care.

Oh, and by the way, i’m not saying that we, in Quebec or in Canada, are way better at choosing our politicians and leaders. We too have to reflect upon our political involvment and on the way we let money (or the search for it to lead political campaigns) govern our political action. What I’m saying is that there is an asshole in Washington that needs to be wiped away, as fast as possible. So just do it!
